Scottie is a highly accomplished civil engineer and entrepreneur with deep experience in project management, infrastructure, construction, development, and investment. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from San Diego State University and began his career with respected public and private organizations.
His early engineering work included assignments with the County of San Diego, Traylor Pacific, Caltrans, and Dokken Engineering. Across these roles, Scottie contributed to geometric design, drainage design, floodplain studies, engineering coordination, and structural construction.
Scottie later returned to Caltrans, where he served for more than thirteen years as a Field Engineer in Structural Construction. He also supported project management on a major multi-billion-dollar corridor program, gaining first-hand experience coordinating complex schedules, stakeholders, and technical requirements.
Beyond engineering, Scottie serves as Chief of Operations for Simplified Builders Inc. and has participated in investment and development ventures spanning hospitality, entertainment, logistics, food and beverage, and distribution. His technical judgment and entrepreneurial mindset make him a valuable resource on complex, asset-intensive engagements.
